Non-Affiliated Permit Policy
Any non-affiliated campus partner who brings a vehicle to campus must register for a permit and provide valid vehicle information that will include make, model, color, license plate number, and state. Permits are required at all hours on weekdays, day and night to promote campus safety. Accurate and updated license plate information is required at all times.

Virtual Permits
Parking and Transportation Services has transitioned to a fully virtual permit system for select permit types. Physical permits for these selected types will no longer be issued or required for display, as each permit is now electronically linked to the vehicle’s license plate number. Enforcement is conducted using License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology, which scans license plates to verify valid parking.
To avoid citations, it is essential that all vehicle information—especially license plate numbers—is input correctly into the system. If you are driving a new vehicle, or your license plate changes, please update your information in the Parking Portal, or email parking@lsu.edu to update this information.
